i have had that done and yes it hurts but stay in a calm place then you be OK Hun
I have had my cervix numbed twice in my life and both were painful. However we are women we can handle it. I tend to compare everything to the pain of child birth and having the cervix numbed was a drop in the bucket compare to that. Just keep in mind they do this procedure almost on a daily basis with success.
What is a coloposcomy? I looked up the word and can't find it in any reference book. If you can tell me what the procedure is, I might be able to help you with an answer.
Hi, I am 33 and have had many colonoscopys. They aren't that bad because they give you medicine to make you very sleepy so you really don't know what is going on. Four years ago I had to have my Colon completely removed under Anastasia due to severe Colitis.I had to have a bag attached to my side called an colostomy for 4 months and then once again I went under Anastasia to have another operation to connect my sm. intestine to my rectum which now acts as my colon. Very complicated procedure. Do not be scared of the Anastasia, it is not bad at all. They will give you some medicine through your i.v. and you will start to feel sleepy next you know you will wake up in recovery. If you are in pain they will then give you pain meds to make you feel better. I know all this because I have had many operations.
Honestly, it does hurt, but u have 2 keep strong for yourself, i mean, others might treat u like an invalid, but dont worry bout dat... local anaesthetics, r like things u cant even feel, u cna see it, but cant feel it till u wake up. i mean u wake up all dizzy, and sorta mardy asking evry1 where u r.. really u got nottin 2 worry bout..
dear princess.. do you mean colposcopy?
i had i little ulcer on the cervix 2 years ago and i was treated with electro cauter/if this is the right word for it my native language is not English/ it did not hurt but the feeling is a little strange.
if this is the treatment you have to do it's not painful
The procedure is actually called a colposcopy. I have had it done years ago and yes it is uncomfortable and can cause minor pain. The procedure is done to map abnormal cells on the cervix. This is done so that when the physician actually goes in to either freeze the cervix or perform a cone biopsy he is more assured of covering the area required. If you have a low tolerance to pain ask if he can provide a minor sedative before the procedure. After undergoing this please consult with your physician on recieving the HPV vaccines.
Never had it done. But wishing you well.
It depends what treatment they are doing. Is it for cervical cancer? They might be using the freezing technique, or the laser. Either of these would be a bit painful if you had no anaesthetic.
I had no anaesthetic for my coloposcomy, but I had a general (right out asleep)anaesthetic for my biopsy.
So, I guess it depends on the doctor, and what it is exactly they are doing.
it shouldnt hurt, will be a bit like having a smear, u will have a local anaestetic, dont worry you will be ok, a little uncomfortable but nothing more.
good luck
I've had 2 colposcopies and a cone biopsy and finally a hysterectomy (best thing i ever did). All of it hurt. when you've had tissue removed (cut, burned, frozen) it will cause pain. Good luck with your procedures. (Your treatment under anesthesia is either Loop or Cone Biopsy?)
I think you mean colonoscopy,I have had 2 they don`t hurt at all ,the only thing I found is when it`s over you are full of wind and it`s a little embarrassing if there`s lot`s of nurses around!
i wimped out and had mine done under a general anaesthetic lol
Good luck anbd try not to worry too much
x
yes I've had colposcopy twice once for Cin3 and only recently I was treated for Cin2. The 2nd time it took three local injections to numb the area but when the procedure started I got the most awful pain, so it had to stopped and I had to go back two weeks later and I had it done under general anaesethtic. To be honest if I ever have to have it done again i will ask for a general. I am waiting now for my follow up appointment hopefully i'll get the all clear. Good luck with your treatment .
