How long should a girl wait to use a tampon after she starts her period?

You mean after you first get your period, or when it first starts for that month? I would wait at least a couple months if you just got your period for the first time. After that, you can use a tampon as soon as you see red blood coming out (not brown or a really dark red because you aren't bleeding too much at this point)

I,m assuming you are young and this question relates to age. Theres no harm in using a tampon when your young. If you are a virgin it won,t change that.
Alot of young girls use them to be able to swim while on their period.
I think a gurl should wait at least 2 days, just you don't get dry and the tampon get stuck.
I started using them from day one when I was 12,, just use the slim ones,, make sure u insert it up far enough,,if u can feel it when u sit down,then its not up far enough,, try it,,its much cleaner,,and doesn't feel so bulky like those mattress pads,,, I am 44 and never stopped wearing them since I was 12,, good luck
I started first day or so, couldn't stand pads, too annoying I played a lot of sports so wasn't practical to use pads, some people say wait but it makes no difference, I was 12 and did me no harm,
