could i be pregnant?
i was taking Depo-provera for nearly 4 years was due to getmy last injection mid-june but decided not to continue with it. For the last month I have been getting really tired, have really sore breasts which has never happened before and my skin is breaking out in spots. I've not had a period since starting the injection 4 years ago. Could these symptoms be a side effect of stopping the injection or could i be pregnant. I already have a child and didn't feel like i do now.

I have been on Depo Provera for almost 10 years. I went through a time where I didn't have any health insurance so I couldn't get my next injection. After about 4-5 months after I didn't get my next indection, I started feeling as though I was pregnant my breasts were sore, I felt nauseated, tired all the time, and I had cravings. I knew for sure that I was pregnant but everytime I took a test, it was negative. I even went to the doc to have a blood test which is the most accurate because it measures your hormone levels. The doc told me that my body was going through a hormonal change. My body was tricking me into thinking that I was pregnant because the Depo which is a hormone was leaving my body. I also experienced the worst period of my life afterwards. I was bleeding so bad that I was lightheaded and weak a lot. So please be careful!
ask the doctor!
and one month ago when the Depo shot is supposed to wear off.. you didnt use any other method of birth control..
duh
It could be a hormonal reaction to not taking the shot. If you are dying to find out, take a EPT.
there is a high probability that it is just your body trying to get back to normal now that you've stopped poisening yourself. but there is also that chance that you are pregant. get a test, see a 'doctor' and you'll find out.
Have you done the obvious? work out how long ago you made love! Only you know, or maybe its just your bodys way of saying enuff is enuff!
Its very likely that you are prego but a test will put your mind at rest. These are the after affects from not having the depo injection.
u could be pregnant indeed.do a quick hoe test to put ur mind at rest.
kiki
ask your doctor
Can be up to a year to get your hormone levels back to normal after taking depo-provera, visit your GP or family planning centre just to put your mind at rest
Its just the reaction to not continueing the injections. If you dont want another pregnancy make sure you take suitable precautions. I myself had the same problem as you describe. Convinced I was pregnant I came to terms with it and went to the docs telling him I was 3 months pregnant but was astonished to find I wasnt. Already having 3 boys I couldnt understand my symptoms if I wasnt pregnant. Four periods in 19 months caused me to have a cyst which eventually burst on its own, still having further probs went into hospital for laparoscopy to find out the real cause. I was 20 weeks pregnant with my daughter. I thought I was in a dream when they brought me out of anaesthathesia and told me. The joke still stands in our family, my daughter now 12 wasn't a sister but a cyst. All these symptoms came from the same injection you speak of.
These are side effects but do have a test to put your mind at rest and then ensure alternative contraception.
It is more than likely your body getting used to the fact that you have not had the injection. When my ex wife had it she was tol it would take about a year for your body to be totally free of the drug. I suggest you consult your gp. I am reading some of these answers and they are not very nice at all. These people must think its a luahg or something. I hope you are ok but please see your gp.
I was on the shot and after I stopped taking it my body went crazy. It took almost 6 months before I got my period again.and even then it wasn't normal. I still have problems and it's been a year and a half. You could be pregnant. Just go to Wal Mart and buy a pregnancy test. First Response is pretty good and it's not expensive. Either way I wish you luck.
It could be side affects. Also remember your body is still adjusting to this change. Ask the doctor for advice and you could also do a test to be sure,
see your doctor
