Should my wife get the HPV vaccine?

My wife and I haven't had any sexual contact with anyone else other than each other.

So from what I understand then there is no possible way she can have HPV.

She is 23 years old, she she is getting close to the vaccine cut off age of 26.

Should she get the HPV vaccine even though we do not cheat on each other?

Answers:
Yes the doctor would have. You should have your wife contact her gyno. The doctor would have the best advice.

It is her personal choice to have the vaccine or not.
hey it couldn't hurt.if anything it can be beneficial for her in the future. and it cuts down on chances of cervical cancer! I didn't know there was a cut off age though.
IF SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE VIRUS, WHAT'S THE POINT? SHE SHOULD GET TESTED FOR IT SINCE IT IS A SILENT DISEASE FOR MANY PEOPLE AND THEN DECIDE.
They are recommended for all women up to 26,regardless of sexual activity. This website will tell you more.

May this never, ever happen, but IF she was raped by someone with this virus, she would at least be protected from that. She should probably have a Pap test done first to make certain that she does not have it. She may have been completely faithful to you and still managed to get it somehow. A very tough question - get the Pap test, and take it from there.
HPV can be transmitted in almost any form. Doctors don't even have a defnite clue how it is transmitted. Usually they would advise against multiple sex partners and engaging in sexual acts.

It is a virus that has about 99 strains, 2 of which can cause cervical cancer in future.

Please get your wife to do a PAP and HPV test. I'd advise her to get the vaccine coz HPV have been known to be passed through kissing, oral sex and intercourse.

Good luck!
As far as I know cancer is not sexually transmitted. We have so many kind of cancers. It is a recent knowledge that they found out about a virus causing cervical cancer but it shows the symptoms later in the life. So if you get flu does it mean you cheated on your wife? No! and you get flu shots right?

I think it is very important for her to get the vaccine to prevent illness later in her life.
