A girly question?
how do we suppose of tampons anymore? when i was younger we flushed them down the toilet, but the new toilets (and apartment toilets) are all high efficiency and low water use and therefore clog or do not flush down the tampons at all!..and then i gotta fish em' out. How in the world do i dispose of them - eww! i tried to wrap them up in my feminine pad plastic wraps?
Answers:
roll them out in toilet paper and buy those small bags, the ones you use for dirty diapers and put them in there and throw them in the trash can thats what i do
Wrap them in TP and toss them in the trash. Simple as that. I think it even tells you that on the box they come in
wrap yo stink *** tampons away and throw them in the trash
ewwwwwwwwww
Ziploc zipper bags of course!
YOU ARE NASTY!! COME ON ARE YOU BORED?? I WILL ANSWER THIS QUESTION JUST BECAUSE I ALLREADY GAVE YOU 5 SECONDS OF MY TIME!! YOU WRAP THEM AND THEN TOSS THEM!! DONT FLUSH THEM
wrap them in toliet paper, and place them in the waste basket.
are you serious come one now just wrap it up and throw it in the trash is it that hard
I was taught never to flush tampons or napkins in the toilet. I know it's unpleasant to handle the used ones, but your idea of wrapping them in the pad wraps is a good one. Or keep a supply of the small plastic bags in the bathroom, and just wrap in plain tissues, put them in the bag, and throw the whole mess in the wastebasket. I seem to recall there was one brand that was flushable, but I can't remember which one it was. Just be sure to wash your hands after wrapping and disposing of the used feminine products.
i flush them all over the place and im fine. but the wrappers dont always flush because they are like filled with air or w/e so just rip them a little!
since my period is only 3-4 days long i just put them in a empty container like empty coffee cans or formula can something with lids just hold the can arm lenth away its better then putting it in the waste basket think who really wants to walk by the waste basket n see it plus it can also give the place a smell its really no more different then the disposing of the diaper geniue thing sounds kinda gross but i was embarressed to have company over n when they went to the bathroom they can see if you are on your period cuz they can see the tampon in the waste basket so i say an empty can works best its hidden n theres no smell but when you open it
TAMPONS SHOULD NEVER BE FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET.
Tampons are absorbent wads of material that expand both widthways and lengthways when they absorb fluids, this means they can easily plug up toilets and pipes within the building you are flushing them.
There are approximately 2.5 million tampons flushed in the UK alone (not sure on US statistics, but guesses are they are a lot higher), these all contribute to a huge problem for local water authorities as their pipes get blocked and damaged by anything other than human waste and toilet paper being flushed – it costs water authorities approximately $25 billion per year to sort this out, that could be put to better use.
Even the most advanced water treatment plants will still allow small debris through the system, this ends up in our oceans and on our beaches, per kilometre of beach you are looking at 14 tampons – so when you go walking along a beach remember when you see a used tampon it is likely to be one that someone carelessly flushed.
Commercial tampon manufacturers claim their tampons are flushable, common sense says otherwise, also remember commercial tampons are full of chemicals so that just adds to chemical pollution as well as waste pollution.
They say they are flushable because they like to emphasis the convenience of their products, although there are more convenient options that don't require as much changing or disposal such as menstrual cups.
There are no laws to stop tampon manufacturers telling people this.
Tampons should always be wrapped up in toilet paper or put into sanitary bags, this is what these things are made for, also why they have tampon and pad bins in women's toilets. You should be doing the same at home, if you don't have a bin with a lid already in your bathroom then buy or ask for one.
It's not 'eww' it's your period, most women have their periods, there is nothing negative about it, you really should think more about your attitude towards menstruation and how absent minded you have been regarding menstrual products/options - sorry to be blunt, but come on!
a good idea is to use nappy bags to put them in. theyre v.cheap to buy and smell nice to.
