does anyone know what to do about my new belly button piercing?
im 14 and i need help with my belly button piercing. iv had it pierced for about 2 weeks. my piercing doesnt hurt at all but im worried. ive been putting neosporin on it daily. is that going to do anything? i cant remember if the place that pierced it said i could come back and get the belly button ring changed in 4 weeks or 4 months. i have the loop with the ball on it in right now. the crusties on it are a yellowish clear color. is that normal? if you know anything about this please help me! i realy dont know what to do!!

sounds like its healing fine, you should be able to go back and have it changed in 4 weeks,it will be solid enough-NOT HEALED- to gently change the jewelry. STOP the neosporin, use SEA SALT, not the same as epsom salt or table salt, and soak the piercing 2x a day for 10min. mix 1/4tsp to 8oz water.
also the best place to ask for help is not here, but a PROFESSIONAL piercing studio-it's amazing how many people have problems and when asked what they're doing for aftercare, my friend said to do such and such-well is that what your piercer told you to do, no, your friend isn't a piercer dont listen to her
call the place!
and yeah its normal my friend whos 12 just got it done!
Yeah it is totally normal. You can keep putting Neosporin on it and make sure to turn your ring round and round to keep it loose. Dont get it changed until it is COMPLETLEY healed, otherwise, not only can it get infected, but it hurts like a SOB if you do it too early.
i have many pericings its normal to be crust you can change it in about 6 weeks or when its healed no sooner though and please try and stay away from neosporin try epsom salts mixed with water in a glass on your belly button. also use an antibactieral soap thats all twice a day..message me if anything elese is needed
I don't know about your piercing place, but my place says no neosporin. It says on the back of the neosporin tube not for use on puncture wounds, which is exactly what a piercing is. They told me to soak my piercings in saline and wash daily with a special soap. You should probably call them to be sure.
Yellowish clear crusties sound normal. Thick whitish yellow drainage is not.
A naval piercing is relatively hard to heal, so I'd imagine 4 months for getting the jewelry changed. But like I said, call them. They're no doubt used to getting calls about piercing care
just wanted u to know, u are not supposed to be putting neosporin on a piercing. it can cause it to try to come out. call the place u pierced it. they will tell you not to use it. use the wash they gave u, and it will clear up. my mom usesd neosporin, and she had to get it repierced. dont mess the piercing up.
That's normal. Just keep cleaning it like they told you, using anti-bacterial soap, and keep turning the ring every once in a while. I had mine pierced back in 2000. They put one of those little rings in like you got, and I've still got it in. I have little clips that I can hang from it, so I've never seen the need to take it out. If you DO want to remove it so you can change it, wait until the piercing has completely healed...that could be up to 4 months. In the meantime, don't worry about it..it will be fine.
the crusties you see that look yellowish clear, that is very normal. it is four months to change the ring. DO NOT use neosporin under any circumstances, neosporin and peroxide are not for puncture wounds, a belly button ring is a puncture wound. Use anti bacterial soap everyday, such as dial. If it has a pink color that's normal also, if you start to worry take a shot glass, cover the bottom of it with salt, not way to much just enough to cover the bottom, then fill it up a little more than half way with warm water, mix the salt with the water until dissolved, then lean your belly button onto the top of the shot glass to make a suction, then lean back/lay down so the salt water can get onto/into the piercing and start to clear up the bacteria. do this three times a day four times a week.
