how can you tell when your mirena IUD hormone levels are running low?
i'm starting to have PMS symptoms again after 4 yrs with no period. wondering if hormone levels have dropped too low to be effective, and Mirena needs to be replaced?

I was told by my doctor that Mirena IUD is good for up to 5 years, they gave me a card with the date on it when I'm suppose to get it taken out. If you are having these problems or concerns then it's best to call your doctor and talk to them over the phone and then if they state you should go in, then do it.

well i have the mirena and its possible to still have your period and symtoms of pms while on it .I still have both.So i wouldnt be worried .You have another year but talk to you doc just in case .
I think its normal I get PMS symptoms and the discharge but no period! Keep in mind if the hormon level was to be running low then you would still be okay bc the Paraguard dosent have any hormones and its effective for up to 10 yrs
