Would it hurt a pregnant mother they had a 65 degree curve in their spine?
Meaning that the curved spine was congenital and could not be fixed. They also had scoliosis. and their back was fused because of it.
Answers:
Would probably suffer with more back pain during the pregnancy.
If you know someone like this, and I'm assuming you do, you should suggest to this person that they have a copy of a recent x-ray and their medical record regarding this problem. Anesthesiologists are often reluctant to put in epidurals without seeing these records. Might even want to have a consult with anesthesia to discuss pain management options before going in to deliver.
i believe this would cause some discomfort especially in the later months.
I went through this and did OK; however, I only gained a total of 16 pounds and delivered at 32 weeks gestation.
Now, my daughter is 13 months old and I am going to physical therapy due to all of the "up, down, up, down" and "hold me, hold me" phases.
Scoliosis sucks! Good luck to you!
