How can I stop my hair from falling out so much?
I'm only 17 and my hair falls out more than I believe it should. When I was younger, I had very thick hair, and I would love to have it back. If anyone has any tips, please let me know. Thank you very much for your time.

You should discuss this with your doctor. Hair loss can be from a number of things. One cause could be anemia (low iron levels) due to poor nutrition. Teenagers are more prone to anemia due to their growing bodies. Also if you're a vegetarian, it's harder to get sufficient amounts of heme iron which is important for hair growth. Your best strategy is to see a doctor, have a complete blood test done (to test for anemia, etc.), and eat a balanced diet which includes lean red meat 2-3 times a week (heme iron), fresh vegetables (B-vitamins) and fruit.

do you eat well? are you on medication?
you should talk to your doctor about this, really.
I'm 17 too and have the same issue. And yes we both need to take more vitamins. take those multivitamin pills and eat well. I should take my own advice too. =P
Shedding is a sign your hair may need a trim or trimmed more often.Try using moisturizing shampoos that help from breakage, also vitamin deficiency.Speak to your md about it.
