always follow the directions in the box. make sure you are relaxed when inserting it so it goes up as far as possible. grasp the tube with your middle finger and thumb and insert it all the way up until your thumb and finger are touching your body, then with your index finger push the bottom part of the tube all the way up. this should put the tampon in the correct position. you should only feel uncomfortable if its not put all the way in. only wear it for 4 hours and then change it so you won't end up with Toxic Shock Syndrome. Its rare but very serious. good luck with everything!
hun- you need to make sure the tampon is in all the way otherwise it will bother you..push the aplicator tube until into you and then push it up until it stops (just make sure that there is the string hanging out so that you can get the tampon out..)
girls usually get their period every 24-30 days
do you have an aunt or cousin you could talk to..?
don know how to do it but every 8 weeks
I have mine for about 3-7 days. It's not that bad. Yeah. I know what you mean. It's hard for you to tell a guy about this stuff. But you can work through it.
tapons r expensive
the box has directions if that helps!?!?! but its different for every one. i myself cant feel them at all. It sounds like your pretty uneducated about your period i suggest you look it up on google. that always helps. good luck
sorry but i dont wear tampons (i asked my mom about it when i first got it and she said you dont want to do that now..so yea) maybe there is like something on the box..? usually you get it about every 28 days but it is different for everybody so keep track of it and count how long between each period.
Its not gross at all, don't worry.
Get GentleGlide, they don't hurt very much. Push it(applicator) in until your fingers touch your body, then push the tampon in. Take the applicator out and you're done.
this site has everything you could imagine for a young girl just learning about her body. they give out samples too. just look around and go to the questions and you will surely find everything you need to know here.

dont be emmbaressed ur doin the right thing to wear a tampoon and yes it should hurt or be uncomfertable for a while but once u get used to it it will be fine,, it duz go all the way and you get ur period for a week every month,,, if you start your period lets say july 1st to the 7th youll have your next period august 1st to the 7th easy just keep on doin wat ur doin and hang in there
I dont think that you put it in far enough you have to stick just about the whole front of the applicator in your cooch and it's best if you use the plastic applicators. You dont have to worry about anything but seeing the string because the tampon can only go so far because the coochie stops at a certain point.
how old are you? you had a period for a year and you do not know how or when it happends? your weird! no ofence (i can not spell ethir) and you stick the tampon all the waym in till you fell a little bump! ok and... do not be frade to tell your dad!
Periods come usually once a month, when I first started thoug, I was like 3 times a month, I don't know what the hell was wrong with me.

Errrmmmm, puth the tampn though the applicator until you can't anymore, and it should be in you.

You will feel discomfort, but you get use to it some time. Plus, Tampax perl feels as if it is not there, so I like those best, others might be prefered.
Tampons are something your body must get used to, follow the instructions and push them in as far as you can. Give it time and i am sure you'll get use to them. You are supposed to get your period once a month unless taking birth control or other pills that might interfere with your regular period, sometimes it takes a while for your period to regularte but this is normal. If you want more info you might want to ask a trusted adult or your schools nurse. Hope this helps.
It occurs about once a month. However, I would assume you're pretty young so you may not be regular right away. If it felt weird and uncomfortable, it's not far enough in. You shouldn't be able to feel it. Keep trying; it should get easier. Don't be embarrassed either; this has happened to all us girls. :)
Most tampons (Tampax, Playtex) have an applicator that is in two parts -one is larger than the others. Hold the middle of the applicator (right where the 2 parts touch) and push it in. Then, push the bottom of the applicator with your other hand -this pushes the small part of the applicator into the larger part of the applicator -and will push the tampon all the way inside.

It can feel uncomfortable if you are not used to them -but it shouldn't hurt. Try getting the smallest size tampon you can & see if it still feels uncomfortable. Also, if you aren't bleeding much you shouldn't wear tampons -stick w/the pads.

Most girls get their periods about every 28days -and it will last for 5-7days. When you are young, though it can take awhile for you to become "regular" -which means you may get your period more or less often, some months you can bleed alot or a little. The older you get, the easier it will become to pedict when you will get your period & for how long.
go to www.beinggirl.com they have a lot of helpful information! or get the book "the care and keeping of you" it's an american girl book. they both helped me a lot.
It must be a bit awkward for your Dad to try and help you with this. Here is a website that should answer all your questions: http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/tampon.
Using tampons is a bit tricky at first, but have patience and you'll appreciate the freedom. You'll do fine. Take care
