what would cause bleeding only 7 days after last period?
I had a normal period and finished 7 days ago. last night i got period pains in my back and today ~I'm bleeding again. Any ideas why? I'm 40, not had kids, not on the pill and not had sexual activity for one month.

Sometimes when you are around that age your hormones are changing around, quite a lot of my friends found that their periods started to get sometime-ish , sometimes closer together and sometimes further apart, kind of like when you first start.
But I would recommend a checkup with your doctor, because you are pretty young, and it's good just to find out if it is anything else.
Some women go through menopause early, and some have problems that have bleeding. I have several friends in their thirties and forties that have had to have hysterectomies and it started that way. Not trying to scare you.but you need to go see a doctor and have it checked out.
could be hormones or perimenopause.
oh my goodness. i had the same thing. i thought it was my period. the back pain was so bad. that i collasped and went to the er. i had kidney stones that would not pass. that causes blood in your urin. i did not realize the blood was in my urine, i thought i was my period. the pain got so bad.
the stones would not pass so I had to have them zapped, into smaller chuncks to pass. they put you asleep.
sounds like kidney stones to me. if so the pain will keep getting worse. i have had them twice. the first time i was 8 months pregnant and thought i was having back labor and went in ready to have my baby. but i was trying to pass stones. the first time i passed the stones on my own, the second time it was to large and lodge and the pain was so bad.

I don't want to scare you but it could be fibroids are a cyst on the ovaries.i once bled for 3 weeks and had to be admitted to the hospital because i needed blood.Get to a doctor as soon as possilbe,i am also 40 and haven't had any kids and no sexual activity.I had both fibroids and ovarian cyst,i am doing great now ?
could be menopause losing and putting on weight can mess with your periods
