Every month the endometrial lining of the uterus thickens and is shed as a part of the menstruation cycle. If the lining does grow back, monthly menstruation will be less. If the lining doesn't grow back your periods can stop. I don't know if this is a permanent situation but if you have a lot of bleeding each month it is a very good alternative to a hysterectomy if fibroids are the cause. It's always important to get things like this checked out. Heavy bleeding can lead to anemia . Ablation is considered day surgery and is done in the hospital. Recovery takes only a few days.
