What is the purple and black color on my tongue?

I was born with black marks and purple colored marks on my tongue. My mother has it also and I asked why I have it? She said it was a birthmark. I believe her, but I want to see if anyone else besides my mom and I have it on their tongues? And what's the name of this kind of birthmark and did it come from my mom's Indian background?. ..Please nooooooo stupid answers. I am very serious about this!Only people that know about this will be read by me. I really don't talk to stupid and silly people. Thank you.

Sorry, but this may seem like a stupid answer to you. I have a Chow Chow and having a purple or black tongue is hereditary in them. I know you're not a Chow Chow (and I wasn't inferring that), but it is possible for it to be hereditary in humans too. I think you should research your Indian background to find out more.

I believe it is a birthmark and I think it was just and unusual place to have it. You might want to see all of your medical records to see. (Plz nominate as best answer if it help you)
I don't know and I have not seen someone like that before.i take it back, because i can't see their tongue with their mouth closed anyways but why don't you check with doctors for sure how come you have that.
I think that next time you have a regular Dr. visit, just ask! You will get a better answer than can be provided on a board such as this. Also, as another suggested, do some research on your particular background. You would be likely to find it in a genetics section on your own heritage.
