If you don't feel comfortable with male gyno's try going to women. I personally go to see a nurse practicioner. Tell her about your previous history...they might give you a sonogram to check out your ovaries along with other tests. But it's for the best!! Good luck!
Hmmm...I was about to suggest you go for another opinion, but since that would be suggesting the Gyno again, I would suggest you get your Thyroid checked. My mom has endometriosis and hasn't had probs with her period.
My aunt, on the other hand has had probs with her Thyroid and she missed quite a few of her periods on a regular basis.
Good Luck!!
You could ask your primary care dr if they would be willing to test you for other things like a hormone imbalance like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome to see if that could be playing in to why you aren't having your periods now.
i am experiencing the same prob as you do girl.. im 22 years old i also have irregular menses.. according to my OB-GYNE its because of my polycystic ovaries.. she gave me pills called Provera 10 mg in order to regulate my menses.. she said i do not ovulate and sometimes it takes 3 months for me to have my period.. i was also afraid because i was operated twice of breast mass.. the doctor said that our ovaries and breast are somewhat connected.. so even i was operated once of breast mass, it re occur because i have problems with my ovaries.. maybe you can take pills too to regulate your menses but before you do that consult first your OBGYNE..
always go to a female gyno.. they know their stuff better having been through it all themselves..
