I wonder why with all these modern medical advancements, that they haven't found a 'cure' for childbirth pain
Answers:
They have - it's called an epidural. And generally, pain during childbirth is beneficial, as without the pain the woman would never have enough motivation to push hard enough to give birth to the baby.
And they don't use morphine, but they regularly use pethidine, which is in the same family and extremely similar to morphine, which works just as well for pain relief but doesn't have as much effect on the baby.
They haven't found a 'cure' because it's not a condition or illness!
Drugs such as morphine etc., can't be used because they would have tragic consequences for the unborn child..
they have found one n that is C-section but i think those who had C- section think that those pains were better
The baby can't handle morphine. It causes respiratory distress.
No! And don't have a painless way of being kicked in the nuts either! Is not medical science pure shite when you think about it lightly?
There is .. its called general anaesthetic ;)
But despite the pain most women would far rather 'experience' the whole thing and there is always the side effect risk to the child.
Well, I think it's because pain in childbirth is a consequence of man's sin. I mean, if there is a God and sin is real and that is a consequence, we wouldn't be able to find a way to eliminate the consequence of pain and suffering during childbirth. Even with the epidural and other drugs that have been found to not harm the baby that are given tend to slow down the process of childbirth causing less pain but longer suffering. It would make sense that we wouldn't be able to eliminate it if it is a consequence of sin and what the Bible says is true. There is nothing that can eliminate the pain and suffering of childbirth I don't think.
they have made advancements e.g. epidurals etc. but it is your choice whether you want to do that or not. you should consider yourself and your baby in making this decision.
most of my friends said that wanted anatural birth but by the time they were in teh throes of second stage labour were screaming for an epidural. most were told it was too late by then and forgot (most of) the pain by the time they saw what was causing the pain!
i wanted a natural one and was supported in this decision by my birth partner (and husband). that helped when it came to my time of pain pushing reason out of the window. my baby was born without anything (even gas - it is possible)
if you are asking for your self, i would suggest that rather than let your labour anxiety consume you, please explore all the options available to you. your midwife or dr should help, and if not just educate yourself by looking through the different baby sites on the net. good luck!
child birth is not meant to be a"painful experience" you are creating a new life. it is a wonderful breath taking moment in your life. enjoy it for what it is.. for a few minutes you are GOD.. you created that child and are now about to give it life..
I wonder why too. I wish they would hurry up I'm going to give birth in the next couple of days!
well said but like most people the Dr's say you don't need pain relive as its a natural thing giving birth and woman from all over have a baby then straight after set off to work again
I had an epidural and didn't have any pain. Felt a little cramping but I have worse cramps with my period. I even ripped all the way through and didn't feel a thing!
ENJOY IT. It's natures way of making you see just how strong you are. If you can cope with that, you can cope with anything your little bundle of joy will do to you!
believe me if men gave birth it would be a different story!!
