does bulimia stunt growth?
I was bulimic for two years starting whn i was 13. Now i am 15 and have never gotten a period. i grew an inch per year during my time of B. but am still shorter (by three inches) than my mother. everyone always expected me to be taller, so i would like to know if i have any chance of growing maybe tow more inches? medical or personal experience would be helpful.
trying to stay healthy is very hard because i feel like i have a smaller chance than everyone else, already having problems at this age. I have actually never before been told i was fat, quite the contrary, but it was always lurking in the back o my head becuase of the way other family members(some former models) have ended up. now i see the importance of health vrs. appearance, but i can't help feeling that i have stunted my growth, and maybe that i might never be able to have children.
Answers:
Bulimia causes a depletion of your bodies much needed nutrients and certainly can effect your growth and progression of menstruation. However you still are not over the age at which you grow. Be sure to follow up with a doctor regularly to monitor your situation.
you still have a few years, but if you don't get any taller don't let it bother you. It'll be a few years before you know for sure so in the mean time, eat a healthy, balanced diet and don't worry (because stress is taxing on the body too).
