is it safe to take LSD when you have epilepsy?

Hmm, not sure on that one, you'd have to ask a neurologist I guess. But don't listen to these other responses, LSD is the most thoroughly researched psychedelic in the world and is very safe if taken in a responsible fashion.

The thing about psychedelics (and all other drugs) is that they do not add anything to your brain thats not already there. LSD simply mimics chemical neurotransmitters already found in your brain. They trick the brain into creating more of certain chemicals like seratonin and dopamine which is what creates the mental and physical states you experience. Most of the drug is matabolized in 30 minutes, and the rest gets removed from your body through urination over the next 2-3 days. It does not remain in your brain forever and it does not remain in your spine forever. The high last anywhere from 6 to 12 hours depending on the dose, and the overall experience is determined by two things: set and setting. Set is the mood and mental state you're in when you take the drug, and setting is the enviroment you take the drug in.
If you are happy and in a safe place, you will have a good time, but if you dwell on sad or scary thoughts or take it in the middle of downtown, you could find yourself in an uncomfortable situation.

The way we experience reality is through our senses, what we see, hear, feel, taste, and touch. We have evolved to filter out all the unneccessary information and concentrate on whats important to continue surviving. LSD and other pyschedelics help open these filters up so you become more aware of everything thats out there. And in my opinion, it's beautiful. It's also truly saddening to think of all the people who never get to experience it even once in their life because of biased opinion and belief in lies.
Educate yourself about drugs and never take anyones word at face value.

Moderation is how I live my life. Sure, I could drop acid every weekend and probably never have any long term effects, but the constant removal of my mental process from the norm could have adverse social effects. It's funny, most people I know won't touch anything past cigarettes or alcohol simply because they are legal. After 4 years of drug education, I no longer smoke or drink. I never touch stimulants, not even caffiene, and in extreme moments of rebellousness refuse to take aspirin. Now, I use marijuana medicinally for my asthma and recreationally to ease a stressful day, and I take the occasional pyschedelic for introspection into my life and to stir my creativity for the stories and music I write.

I don't know a lot about epilepsy but I can assume that it could be very traumatic to have a seizure while on acid. It has never been recommended that people with pyschosis's take psychedelics because it can trigger an episode. I don't know if this applies to epilepsy though.
