Why do they say "I gotta pee like a race horse"?

Racehorses are commonly given Lasix ( aka Salix) which is a powerful diuretic. They pee a lot right before they race, we're talking gallons and gallons. The medication is thought to help prevent nasal bleeding, which sometimes happens when racehorses supremely over-exert themselves.

i asked that same question, i did some thinking.. i think the answer is due to the fact that race horses have to stay hydrated for better performance, so maybe thats whay they say "i have to pee like a race horse"
because horses get to drink a lot of water before a race to keep them hydrated and then they run like mad to get to the finish line so they can pee
racehorses piss in a particular way, and the speaker needs to piss in that way. And what is that way, you ask? In a long gushing torrent, as you’ll know if you ever observe a racehorse pissing.
Because saying that you "gotta pee like a western diamondback rattlesnake" sound incredibly retarded.
An average race horse can release a gallon of urine in under 6 seconds.
It means peeing strong and intensely.
Horses can do a number 2 while moving, but they can't pee until they stop and when they do, holy smoke:-)
Actually.even more interesting than anyone else has said. Racehorses used to be given a dose of Lasix (furosemide), which is a diuretic, before a race so that they would not have bleeding from the nose and lungs during the race (a weird thing that can happen to horses when they really exert themselves, like during a race) by lowering their blood pressure (among other things). Because lasix is also a diuretic, it also caused them to pee A LOT. That is where the phrase originated.
Look out when a horse pees! They go a lot at one time.
