Is 17 to young to be assistant manager and head cheff in a top restaurant in Cambridge?

If 17 18 in October and have been made assistant manager i am also a head cheff at the same place but i am starting to get tired so, so is all this work to much for a 17 year old to manage

it's not too young. you should be proud of what you've achieved. one more thing if others ( who has employed you) believe in you, you should also believe in yourself

Don't know if it is too much for a 17 year old, but probably too much for someone who cannot spell.
Life is hard and if you are good at what you do then the challenges keep comming.
Either you love what you do or you do not.
If this is something that you wish to do with your life then keep on doing it. If not find a talent that will make you good money and go do that.

If you're a career driven person and you feel you can do it, then you really should.

However, this is a time of your life when you have to sit down and decide where you want to go and how you want to get there. Do you want to go to college? university? travel?

It's really about how YOU feel and whether this job will be the be all and end all of your youth.

Most people twice your age would kill to have a career path like you have right now.

so long as you are good enough and your employer obviously thinks you are, then there is no reason why you shouldn't be. If I was you I would work darm hard because not many people your age gets job opportunities like this so count yourself lucky. When I was 17 I worked in a fast food place so you should think yourself lucky that you have getting this brake at such an early age and work hard to ensure that you make good use of the opportunity

If "they" feel that you are management material.., RUN WITH IT !

On the down side.., you are young and definitely need time for enjoying life !

As you WILL find out,you have the WHOLE REST OF YOUR LIFE to be a responsible adult,

So make sure that you take a little time, NOW, for yourself.
If you are a skilled chef at that age keep it up, if you feel that both at the same time is too much pressure then speak with your manager and let them know, do not suffer in silence and risk burn out, most solutions are really about simple communication!

Really depends on you and how much you really know. But if I was looking for head chef. I would go age and how good they were. You be tested on how you get along with everyone. A happy crew gets along a lot better than a unhappy crew. You are 17 going on 18. So I guess you never had any schooling on being a head chef and manager even assistant. So I would say NO.
Hey as long as you know what your doing, age means nothing. I think it's Awesome. I hope they're paying what you deserve, and not taking advantage of you because of your age.
No. Work & SAVE your money. This is a great experience for you; just remember, there are people standing in line for your job. Your learning everything inside & out. In a few years you will be able to own your own restaurant, and teach others; this time is the BEST learning experience! Don't blow it!

well you must what it takes ..so why worry. at 17 i was in the Army with Millions of pounds of equipment at my disposal.!

So go with it ,,,, never knock how good you are at your job.

You have been given an opportunity early, so you are going to have too grow up quickly and seize it.
Not too many opportunities come up, and if you ignore or mishandle one - word gets around.

But, Yes, 17 is too young for this kind of responsibility.

You ARE young and it sounds to me as though you're being exploited. Then again, if you can be head chef at 17 you're probably going to keep improving and be sought after in the future! So if you love what you do, do it.
If you are starting to get tired you need a break, in fact you need to take regular breaks to make sure you don't burn out. Remember you are still growing at 17 and it isn't fair of your employers to push you beyond acceptable (by YOU) levels!

No, not at all. Try to find out why you are becoming tired. Share with your junior staff. If there is any position wise senior staff, discuss with him/them regarding your challenge. Be in touch with your professional books, webs and pass some leisure time.
It will be tiring because you are faced with challenges that you have never faced before - also you have taken alot on and it can be mentally draining as well as physically. I think its a brilliant achievement for you at your age and basically - GO FOR IT!!
You are still young with lots of enthusiasm and it will get better for you - my friend used to be head chef in Wycombe and she used to get tired of all the long shifts but she enjoyed it which was the main thing - Good luck with it !!

wake up mutley your dreaming again, it will not be a "top" restaurant for long with a 17 year old head chef. Sorry and all that but I think somebody is having you on to get the work out of you son.
Age should not be the determining factor but qualifications should be and if they selected you, congratulations.

everyone has got to start somewhere and if it is what you really want to do go for it opportunities like this don't come your way everyday
your not old enough your not good enough you cant spell so i dont think you can read, so go to school learn to read and write, then get a job
