What you can do with a bullet piece in your scull?

This is quite a concern over my head for years. Because this is the case with my brother. It happened decades ago over the war of Chinese/Vietnam. It says to get it out is more dangerous than leave it there.
How you can take care about it? Is it safe to just leave it there? It just doesn't feel good to just leave sth. that doesn't belong there.
I wish get some professional ideas about this matter. My brother doesn't talk much, especially sensitive issues.
I wish I have some ideas to help with this matter, to be able to talk with him about this matter.

well first off it is most likely inside the skull. well you dont have nerve ending in there so most likely no pain. next is complex the easiest way to tell if its doing something is a personality change but with vietnam in there kinda hard to tell if it was from war or from the fragment. and back then it was most likely very dangerous to go in and get it, but now we have lasers and robots and all sorts of things that may make it possible to remove with no ill effects. but it is still up to your brother as to going to the doctor and talking with them about it. he may feel that somehow its a penance for living through the war, they call it survivor guilt. he may also just not notice it and has been with it so long why go through surgery to remove something that doesnt change his way of life.

It actually is more dangerous to take it out.. basically if he is still alive and he has the bullet in his head he will have to re-learn everything over again and won't be able to learn as much as he knew before... he will basically act like a 10 year old the rest of his life but it's a miracle he lived and you should be very grateful he did.. its very rare that someone lives through a situation like that
