What is a good antihistamine for children if a child experiences irritableness with most antihistamines tried?
Answers:
try a homeopathic remedy for sinus or congestion. talk to a homeopathic physician or check out your local organic section at a local grocery store (like on the east coast we have Wegmans stores that carry homeopathic remedies). make sure that you talk to someone about treatment for children though. it is important to only treat your child when he has symptoms with homeopathic remedies though, otherwise it could cause symptoms. good luck though.
Your question is too vague.
How old is the child?
What antihistamines has he/she been on?
What is being treated? Allergies, atopic dermatitis etc.
Most of the sedating antihistamines (Benadryl, Atarax)can have a paradoxical reaction such as irritability. If the child has not already tried non-sedating antihistamines (Allegra, Claritin, Alavert) that would be the next step.
By the way, "Irritableness" is not a word.
there are two type of antihistamine..old and new generation.old one are notorious for sedation, nervousness and cardiac disturbances like pheniramine, promithazine ,diphenhyramine etc..newer antihistaminic are safer like cetrizine, mizolastine, ebastine and loratidine..as for children best is loratidine..this drug u can give safely to ur kid.with less sedation and no irritability at al.
