Getting sex changes?
Not that I would ever want a sex change, I am a totally happy heterosexual male, but I was just wondering how would a female get a sex change to a male? I mean do the doctors just have spare penis's laying around that they just sew onto them lol?? I can kind of see how male can get changed to females but female to male just stumps me.

I believe a penis is constructed out of materials the woman has in her uvula or whatever. Now i'm gonna have to look this up. Thanks a lot! LOL.

Dr. Ahuja: In a female to male operation, we have to remove the uterus and ovaries, then we have to remove the breasts, then we have to close the vagina and then we have to reconstruct a penis. There are several ways of reconstructing a penis and having a urethra or a passage through which the urine passes. One of the bold standard today is to do physical portion of the reconstruction in one stage by a radial artery forearm flap, and by microvascular techniques you can do it in one stage. It takes about a year to do these four-five surgeries.

Yeah, I think Ricky is right. They construct it out of whatever's already there. It is kinda strange though. I don't think it ends up working as well as a real one would.

they make a fake one. cause if they used a real one to pee theyd hav to reconstruct the bladder.
I saw a programme on this op, was a bit gross, they basically cut a rectangular portion of skin and flesh from the forarm and rolled it into a penis shape. Obviously there is a bit more to it than that but that is where the skin comes from and adapt the clitoris to make the glans.

its a complicated process, and there are actually two ways of doing this, one more invasive than the other.
the first is to have the trans woman begin hormone therapy. this will make the clitoris swell up in size, (about three inches max) then the doctor ties the womans tubes (to prevent bleeding) and replumbs the the urinary tract into the clitoris. The clitoris is shaped to have a head,(mush room cap) and prosethic testicles are added. (the same kind used for testicular cancer patients).
The other kind involves basically taking a vagina, pulling it out and inverting it, so the inner becomes the outside of the penis. most of this is shaping surgery,but these are very large. the stitiches and prosethetics are added.
both of these can attain minimal erection, and usually full pleasure can be reached.

the first answer was correct. The insides of the vagina are used for the Phalloplasty. THis is the construction of a penis.

Being a transwoman, I've talked to many transmen. From what I've heard, most just take hormones and get the breast tissue removed. Beyond that there a lot of procedures that can be done dealing with the female organs and creating the male organs. A lot of transmen don't get some of the operations done because the results aren't that great sometimes for the cost.
