Could having a head cold with lots of congestion and mucus have anything to do with gain in water weight?

For almost a week now, I've had a little cold with sore throat, headache, congestion and a runny nose. I was on a diet and losing weight and still went to the gym even when I was sick, but it seems like I gained a few pounds. Does anyone know if sickness and water weight or water retention while sick is possible? Thanks in advance.

Answers:
not normally that when you need water most when your sick, 5 drops of oregano under you tongue every 4 hrs for a day will kill a cold
