Health care costs and heating costs. Other than that, there are always the ones you listed in your question. Right now I pay $882 and change for my health insurance a MONTH. That together with $78 for a dental plan and state and federal taxes, more than 60% of my monthly pension is deducted. Where and when it is ever going to end for the elderly?? When they are finally dead??

when there spouse dies they tend to give up on life and usually go thru heart falure..
Limited set income unable to afford proper health care. I have seen people take only their meds every other day so they could make it last 2 months. I have seen them have to choose between food, utilities or medications. People prey on their linelyness and take what little they have.
