How do you use chopsticks?

According to everybody else, I don't use them correctly. They just kind of stick together when i hold them. I perfer forks.
pick them up and stab them into your cashew chicken then quickly pick it up and shove it in your mouth

I'm 30 years old and still trying to figure that out. My daughter uses one to stab the food if its big enough.
