Feeling tired and unable to live a normal life. What could it be?

OK, so here are my symptoms. I am in my mid 30s and have experienced most of these on a daily basis since 2 yrs. I try to eat healthy and all that...
** Mind/head feels foggy, can't seem to focus or think straight
** Feeling tired everyday
** Cannot concentrate
** Lately can't seem to sleep that well
** Have gas formation
** Difficulty in grasping things due to feeling of exhaustion (I'm a student)
** My body seems to feel fine but mind seems to be so tired
** I have tried thigns like - excersizing, eating healthy etc... but I have not had one single day in many months when I woke up and felt fresh and alive.
** I dread going out during daytime for any social commitments because when I am done I know I will not be able to cope with work for remainder of the day.
** I have normal Blood pressure and no known health issues
** I do tend to get anxious quite often or stressed out
** I gained 20 pounds in last 1.5 yr

Do I need professional help? I am thinking some alternative medicine.

I've been having the same thing for some time also. I know I suffer from depression and those sound like you might as well. It could be a combo of a lot of things (depression, stress, anxiety, etc.) I would say yes to getting professional help. They can give you some anxeity pills or depression pills that might help a lot of those symptoms. Don't take lexapro. I've heard from a lot of people it doesn't work. I took Prozac and that seemed to help. I hope you figure it out and it gets better!

<3,
Sounds like your thyroid. Simple blood test by your DR.
I'm not a professional but your symptoms sound like you're extremely stressed. If I was in your situation, I think I might try counseling...or at the very least, take a break from everyday living and go someplace quiet and secluded and avoid STRESS! God Bless...
