Acohol also effects your motor skills and bodily functions as well.
I have seen more people act 20 times dumber drinking alcohol than marijuana.

Marijuana Makes you dumber because it stays in your system longer and it really screws up your brain even after your done. But alcohol makes you stupid only when your drinking it.
When your drunk you are inhibited for a much longer period than when you are high. I would say that neither one of them actually make you any dumber in the long run effect. They just make you brain think and you act different while you are on the drugs.
Both can keep you NORMAL, as long as taken in moderate doses. Of course, you don't float in air after slugging an entire bottle of whisky. You simplly get pissed down and deep slumber afterwards. WARNING--It's an extremely dangerous experiment for your lungs and arteries, even heart as some veins can get choked through excess consumption of liquor.

Regarding Marijuana, don't try more than 3-4 inhalations.

They both make you pretty stupid, but seeing as though you can get addicted to boose it's worse. You cannot get physically addicted to pot.
Alcohol does destroy your brain cells and marijuana does as well, but most people consume more alcohol than marijuana. So it's seems to be more of a consumption issues that actual product. Based on that, I would definetely say ALCOHOL is the biggest detriment to mental facilities.
