I am 36 years old & have been trying to get my disabilty for years with no luck any suggestions?
I am 36 years old & have been dealing with chronic pancreatitis for almost 14 years, migraine headaches for about 20 years & fybromyalgia for around 9 years. I am in so much pain all the time I can hardly stand it. I have been trying to get my disability for years & all of my Dr.'s have said I am 100% disabled but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas how to get it through?

There are lawyers who specialize in getting the system to give people their benefits. Get a Yellow Pages directory -- look up one. Call the promising-looking ones in the directory and find out from one of them which member of the community is the best at that kind of legal representation. There are websites for this, but I wouldn't use one, since it will not tell you which lawyer is better, nor will it give you any stats to help you decide.
Call your State Govenor! That's crap!
Social Security doesn't like to give out money unless they have to. I used to work for a SS plaintiff attorney, so I know that you pretty much have to get a lawyer to get it. They make you file over and over and over again and still turn you down unless you get a professional.
I worked there a lot of years ago, so I don't know what they charge now, but I am pretty sure it is made so that you end up with the money and not the lawyer.
Best wishes!
You have to contact an attorney that specializes in disability claims. I was denied my first time & second time. I'm now working with a local attorney that specializes in disability claims. I had to do it the hard way. I sat down with the phone book & started calling the attorneys whose ads claimed they specialized in disability claims. 5 calls later, I found one who agreed to listen to my claim in person. The first 4 had dismissed me on the phone without asking for too much information from me.
It takes about 6 months to get the paperwork processed. The attorney will take a percentage of your award, seeing as the rear payments go back to when you first applied. Mine is taking 15%, which I know is low, but it's what we agreed is fair. I know some attorneys take 331/3%, like in accidents.
Being disabled is hard to prove since too many people before us have made it harder to get the money we need to get by every month. Good luck to you!
Nolo has a really great book on Social Security Disability.
They are the best at all books.
It's a huge book.
ask social security to send you a list of lawyers in your area
they can help you get a check s.s. does not think pain is a reason to get a check i know it took me 3yrs got a lawyer had acheck in 2months
Have you tried getting a disability lawyer? If the government doctors say that your disabled then you should be able to get on disability. But I would get that lawyer any way especially when your dealing with the government.
get a lawyer that dont get paid unless you get your disablity then you know you will get it they wont take your case if they cant win
