Here's a silly question to answer about organ donations see details?

So I was talking with my step-sister last night about organ donations and we were wondering do organs have an experation date so to speak or as long as the organ is in good shape and preserved properly it can keep on ticking as long as the person is healthy? And can a donated organ be redonated once a person passes on if they were an organ donor? I know this seems weird, but we thought they were ligit questions. Anyone have any ideas on this?

It's a good question.

Donated organs have a "shelf-life" if you will. For example, liver donors usually get about 12-20 years on a donated liver. Then they have to get in line and wait for a new donor.

As for the "reused" part of your question, not as a rule.

I believe it is a wonderful idea to do this for someone. They just might need skin to make a face. Or lips. Some people are praying for a kidney or liver ext. u could save some ones life when yours is through. I've never heard of it being donated twice though. 1 kidney or liver is better than none. Some people spend all day every day hooked to a machine just think how that donation could ease their suffering and actually give some one a life out side of dialysis.

I have a friend that said he will not donate an organ. Hes afraid if hes recarnated he'll come back without that organ.
I'd be more than happy to donate my organ to both you and your sister--preferably at the same time.
