Broken wrist! help!?
Answers:
Well.. this happened to me a last month.
First, they put you to sleep.
Then, they do something with an x-ray and pins.
(can't tell you exactly as I wasn't conscious at the time)
They put in 3-4 pins which are about the size of nails but thinner. They look a bit like tent pegs. They stick out of your arm a bit but you won't notice because they put a cast on.
Then, a few weeks later, they'll take the cast off and pull the pins out with a wrench. Seriously.
Then they put a cast back on..
And after that I can't tell you because that's where I'm at right now.
Basically they will shift your broken bone to where it is together, then the doctors will take a metal plate and put it over the bone. The will then screw in metal pins which will hold your bone together.
You will then be put in a cast for 6-8 weeks.
If the cast itches, ask your doctor about getting "Cast Blast". Did wonders. It is a great spray you will spray under your cast that has talc powder in it and neutralizes the itch and bad odor that comes with casts.
Best thing is, the talc powder will not clump : )
how are you typeing?
