I have had Diarrea for 3 days, have tried Imodium bt still have it .can you tell me what to eat or drink?

I had a salad in a hospital cafeteria with a bowl of creamy turkey veg. soup on sunday & have had diarrea ever since then Taking Imodium doesnt seem to help. I have no fever or upset stomache & no blood in stools . I am afraid of becoming dehydrated what can I eat or drink until it subsides?? I have no family Dr & because of diarrea cant sit & wait in a clinic.

Answers:
Try a clear liquid and jello diet. Sip on broth, apple juice, a small amount of clear soda. Stay away from raw vegetables, dairy foods, and spicy foods.

You may want to try some electrolyte solution like Pedealyte (not sure of the spelling,) you can find it at a drugstore.
go to your pharmacy and get some electrolyte replacement fluids, to prevent serious dehydration. Keep taking clear fluids, and if it's not better in 24 hrs, you will really need to see a GP.
It seems that someone has finally taken my advice and spiked an unwitting sucker's drink with laxatives.

I think you need to eat cheese and drink ice-cold red gatorade. Trust me. Try to get the hard cheese, like the blocks of cheddar that must be sliced or grated.
You'd better go to the emergency room. To keep yourself hydrated you might try gatorade, and green tea, but you need medical attention. This doesn't sound like food poisioning from the soup and salad.
Try the BRAT diet. Banannas, Rice (lot's of Rice), Applesauce and Tea (or Gatorade) If your condition doesn't improve within two days, you must see a doctor (even if you have to make frequent trips to the restroom while you wait) there could be something more serious going on. They'll be able to presribe something to stop it.
i had the same thing last year..I went to my doc and she told me to take immodium ad (pill form only) do not use the liquid. in conjunction with the BRAT diet for 48 hrs..and it worked for me...
Try pepto-pismo.
if it doesn't go away, get some depends adult diapers and go to the doctor.

I know, it's so embarassing.
It took me 10 days to muster up the courage to go to the doctor.

Gatoraide will help you tea, bananas, toast, soda crackers.

try that link.
some of us have had your problem for years.
it's treatable.

i hope it was just bad letuce at the salad bar!
hospital cafeteria food?!? god knows what you could have got!

please try pepto the pink bottle.
and if you aren't taking 2 imodiums after each bm or slushy then you need to take up to 8 a day.
if that doesn't work, it's urgent and important to go see doc.

Adult diapers are like pull ups, Depends makes them in s, m, l, xl. they work very well.
Drink milk...eat cheese You are not going to die so going to the clinic is a waste of money
If you can get Tender coconut it can put things in order for you.
It is a natural medicine in India.

Or take a herbal tea.

Also with black tea add a tsp of lime juice/ginger extract with honey a tsp and have it hot.

Take some whole grain biscuits or bread.

And don't forget to consult a doc
Don't take the Immodium, diarrhea is your body's way of getting rid of the "bad stuff", like germs or bacteria etc. Drink lots of liquids, water, ginger ale(more for upset stomach really), soup broth. Stay away from dairy products and sugary foods as well. Here's a link with home remedies on it, easy to find stuff to use like apple cidar vinegar with honey, lemon juice, etc. Click on folk remedies, then again, then scroll to D and it's listed there.

Drink a lot of fluids so you don't become dehydrated - you probably have food poisoning. Do not take any medication to stop the diahorea as you need your bowls to be emptied to get rid of the food poisoning bug. Try and get some antibiotics to kill the infection. Stay away from dairy products - try juice, black tea or plain water - Powerade or Gatorade (or any sports drink) are great for replenishing lost vitamins and minerals.Try eating dry toast or dry crackers. Hope this helps - God Bless You!!
