Do "bathroom books" end up becoming unsanitary?

Answers:
Why worry? Everything, everywhere is unsanitary. If bathroom objects were that dangerous, we would be dropping like flies on a daily basis. Don't know of anyone who has caught a deadly disease in their restroom.
Yes, if you keep placing it on the toilets, or something everytime you get up. Plus, when you "wipe" you touch the book.
In my house they are the back up team when the loo roll runs out, especially anything by Shakespear.
Of course they do. Everything in the bathroom does. Did you ever see one of those shows where they flush the toilet and microscopic particles go everywhere? If you're really concerned, use a little Lysol spray. It'll get the pages all nasty looking but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that it's cleaner than it looks rather than the other way around.
I read in the bathroom as well, and I put my novels and selected magazines on the tank behind the toilet...the thing about them being unsanitary is true because of the germs and stuff when you clean yourself ...but then it doesn't really make a difference to your health cos you should wash your hands after, and the books collect dust and bacteria grows on them when put on shelves anyways..
Not really. Before you wipe and wash your hands you already have put down the book. Lets just say not more unsanitary than any other book.

Besides: dry paper is the worst place for bacteria to grow. It is like a desert to them.
if you wipe with them
Yes!

And people wonder why I wont have any books or magazines in the loo.

Gross!
