Does Anyone know how the New Hampshire Psych. Hospital system Works *Serious answers only please*?

I am moving to NH in a month and i need to be prepared just in case. Does anyone know how thier system works? Voluntary vs. Involuntary (where u go in the case of involuntary) ect.

Answers:
A voluntary admittal means that you consent to being admitted, consent to treatment, and are free to leave at anytime. Involuntary admittal requires a court order and you may not leave when you wish. Court orders can be obtained for admittance, treatment, medication, etc. You will still be informed of all treatment benefits and risks. The only exception to a voluntary status is if the physician determines that you are potentially harmful to yourself or others and, at that time, a court order may be obtained to prohibit you from leaving the facility.
