Can surgery trigger old age?

My mother who is 61 years old recenlty had plastic surgery. She is 5 weeks post surgery and it seems to me and my sister that she has changed - mentally. I don't know what it is but she is behaving oddly - OLD even. Not old as a 61 year old, but old like my 80 year old grandmother used to. She is paranoid, motionally anxious, etc.

As we as, our body loses its vitamins, surgery can accelerate it; vitamin supplemements can restore it.

2000 mg. of no flush niacin (this helps counter act mental disturbances) 800 I.U. of vitamin E taken with foods high in vitamin E (for better absorption), 400 I.U. of vitamin D, 10000 IU. of vitamin A, 2000 mg of Omega 3 3000 mg. of vitamin C time released 5000 mcg sublingual vitamin B 12 (Sublingual vitamin B 12 gets into the body quicker and more of the vitamin actually reaches the body.) , vitamin B complex, 500 mg. of cal-mag. (calcium and magnesium carbonate to make vitamin C more effective.) 6 tablets of Schiff or HEB brand of CAL-Mag in addition to help with tics, muscle spasms, etc. There is a better way!

That has nothing to do with surgery. Take her to the Doctors if she is acting strangely it may be dementia.
I have noticed that surgery can cause some change. is she still on pain medicine?,This could be causing some of her behavior
I would talk to her doctor
As A Nurse working in a hospital, I have seen many older people have change in their mentation after surgery. Usually it is triggered by the anesthesia, pain medications and or the stress of surgery. It is many times temporary and other times not. Call your mom's primary care physician and tell the doctor what you and your sister notice in your mothers behavioral change. Ask that doctor if he/she could consult with a Geriatric psych doctor. The primary doctor may say that she does not need it but you must press the issue with that doctor. You can always open the phone book or even call your mom's insurance to recommend a geriatric psych doctor. I'm not saying your mom is crazy. But this is a new field of doctor who specialize in the care of persons 60 and older. They can test your mom for early dementia and other things that may have caused the mental change in your mom. Daughters know their moms the best. I always tell families at the hospital when I work with them is that they are with their loved one more than any of the doctors put together. You see more of the changes in her than they do. Pus the issue with the doctors. Don't allow the to give you a no answer. Stand your ground for your mom and get the help she needs.
