I think i should get on antidepressants or something.?
Im to the point that im dissapointed when i wake up in the morning. I feel like life has nothing else to offer and id just rather not be around. I cant eat, i cant sleep. I just dont know what to do. Do i have to go talk to someone and tell them every little thing im going through or can i just tell them the stuff i wrote and theyll give me a prescription? Im scared theyll lock me up in some mental institution or something.
Answers:
Go to your PCP and let him/her know whats going on.
You won't get locked up for being depressed! But no one will just write you a prescription for an antidepressant. They take at least 2 weeks to go into effect, and even then you'll have to tweak the dosage and the brand of antidepressant. It's best to talk to someone like a pshycologist or something. no real doctor will just say, "Oh you're depressed? Here's some prozac."
depending on what country you are in, i suggest you consult your GP/Doctor in the first instance...
Depression is often mis-conceived by the sufferer, and things often are not as bad as they seem. there are LOADS of thigs you can do to help yourself without drugs.
the doctor will listen to you, and more than likely tell you to go home, keep happy, and come back in 2 weeks if your still down.. tell him you've felt like this for several weeks. he may well issue you with a low dose Anti-dep - such as amitriptlyne.
Please see someone though, its very important !!
hey jus take things cool and forget. listen to music
Nobody is going to lock you up. If you went there telling them that you are suicidal or homicidal, then they may lock you up. It is referred to as being put on a Form 1. It means you are a danger to yourself or others. Are you? It sounds like to me that you really need to talk to someone, vent your feelings and get to the root of these feelings. Medications can help, but unless you confront what is causing you to feel this way, it will always be there. Talking to someone who is unbiased and professional has been known to help. Stay strong my friend.
just be happy. people in prison can be happy, its all in the way you look at life. get a sense of humor about yourself and everything! meditation really helps to manipulate the chemicals in your brain the same way drugs do, without the nasty side effects. good luck sweetie!
I think that you should make an appt with your family doc. Get an appt asap! Your family doc will be able to assess the situation and give you meds. He or she will probably refer you to a therapist who will then be able to adjust your meds or add on to them depending on what they think is best for you. I don't know if you are spiritual or not but my advice to you would be to pray to GOD and ask for guidance. Take sometime out for yourself and just relax and think. I hope that everything works out for you and I will pray for you!
You can give the Doc the list but they may want you to answer some questions.Depending on the doctor you have they will then either prescribe you something or refer you to a therapist who will talk with you and decide to whether or not you need medication. Please go see your doctor A.S.A.P. The sooner the better. Honestly, there is help for you to be relieved of feeling this way and if its medication you need then so be it. I was against meds before but I have seen a lot of people including myself and my Best Friend get well with the help of meds for anxiety/depression. Its worth it to go. It took me along time to accept that I needed to TRY out medication. I wish I did it sooner because I could have spent a lot less time suffering. Some people don't continue with meds because they start at the regular starting dose and its to much for them to start with due to sensitivity and they experience bad side effects that they dont want to deal with. you can always start on a very low dose and increase it slowly as I did. It works! Good Luck!
