Strong & Healthy Mental Health?

Are there any methods or pratices that make one's mental health strong and healthy without connection to any religion? If so, how to practise?

Answers:
CBT BEST THERAPY

Religion usually helps the spiritual health..NOT THE MENTAL - Religion, can, believe it or not make you feel GUILTY. Reading psychological books and self-help books, going to a therapist, and taking meds if you are diagnosed with mental problems helps. No religion, please, that can make it worse. I am not religious, but I am very SPIRITUAL - big difference. Good luck to you and email me anytime. Kitty
I dont understand this question - How would you even know that religion has anything to do with being mentally strong and healthy( assuming that you have tried religion for that purpose).
keeping things in perspective (ie--is someone cutting you off while driving really worth being pissed half the morning? is that snide remark towards you really going to make a bit of difference in your life--if not, then don't let it bother you!), de-stressing and relaxation techniques, avoiding all-or-nothing behaviors/thoughts, being flexible and adaptive with changing events, not being dependant on other's approval, avoiding negative focus (ie--forgetting there are always other options), take responsibility for your thoughts/actions (including your own happiness--find a way to strive for it), confront difficulties rather than avoiding them, looking after your own mental/physical needs, focusing on your strengths and accomplishments rather than discounting yourself, accept yourself as who you are and if you are not happy with an aspect of it then work towards change to become content and confident with yourself, develop and maintain relationships as support...the list goes on.
