Anyone also suffer from Excessive Daytime Sleepiness Disorder?

How do you cope with the EDSD?

Answers:
I think this may be what I have. I keep feeling incredibly sleepy during the day.

This effects my concentrating and also my mood.

Even though I'm quite moody already this just adds to the stress and doesn't help at all when I am in class in college trying to concentrate on my work.

I've been getting a lot of headaches and no matter how much I try to sleep this feeling off - it just will not go away.

Some one recommended seeing my college councilor or even the doctor and I may if this continues but for now we'll just see how it goes. I hope all gets better with you xx

Cousin had something like that. It proved to be her diet. Not that she ate bad food, just that she combined the wrong kinds of foods such as Meat & Dairy & Starch.

The body handles different types of food differently. When you have a mismatch of food types your body has to work extra extra hard. That was the cause of her sleepiness.

I don' t have a remedy for you, but you might concider looking into your eating style.

Good luck and WAKE UP!
yes. it meaans your body doesnt get enough sleep at nite. so try going to bed earlier, and if you cant sleep at nite, ask your doctor for a sleeping pill perscription.
Look dear,I think that excessive day time sleeping is a reflection of another problem called OSAS i.e obstructive sleep apnea syndrome that means 30 or more apnoetic episodesduring a 7 hours period of sleep.that causes interrupted sleep .Its causes may be nasal or pharyngeal & is more common in men ,age 35-65,infants & children due to enlarged tonsils & adenoids, obese persons.
This problem causes excessive day time sleepiness varying from feeling of generally being tired to actually falling asleep during important activities, like driving car or operating machinery.
It also causes morning headache, intellectual deterioration, personality changes, excessive body movements during sleep, nocturnal enuresis & impotence. It also causes snoring & obstructive episodes
Treatment of the cause of nasal obstruction e.g topical steroid spray in allergic rhinitis
positional therapy;avoide lying supine
orthodontic appliance e.g tongue retaining device [prevent falling back of tongue] & mandibular positioning device[prutrudes the mandible forward
continous +ve airway pressure
If medical ttt fails then surgery is the clue
a-Non surgical
-weight loss for obese patients
avoidance of alcohol & sedatives
