sadly, if you live long enough, everyone gets it at some point. The worst thing is when someone has early onset and you lose them quickly and young. They are just now beginning to seriously study the issue as the baby boomers get it. Like most things, they may develop pills to head it off, but even if they find a cure, it will not ever be available until they have exhausted every possibility of ever making another doller off the pills. Medicine is business. I look at who I have know with it, and those who die of another cause before it comes to them. You are right - why so many good people. I feel for you. I miss my parents too.

I don't think they know why people get it yet but they're doing studies to show how not to get it- juice several times a week (this was a new study) and people who keep their minds busy (crossword puzzles and reading) tend to be less likely to develop alzheimers than others who don't
My Father had Alzheimer's and he has since pasted away. One thing you must remember, is that you suffered more from the disease than your parents suffered. This is a blessing for your parents. I know that it is not easy for you, because of what I went through will my Father. Try not to dwell on the bad times but, rather on the good times with your parents. Remember, we are but a very short time here on earth, but for ever in heaven. God bless you.
