what is the psyche?
Answers:
The human mind, especially, the individual human personality.
In late Greek and early Roman mythology, Psyche was the human that Eros, the god of love, himself fell in love with.
Tortured by her jealous sisters and by Aphrodite (the jealous goddess of physical and sexual beauty), Psyche wound up in the underworld of Hades, from which she was rescued and brought to Mount Olympus, where she was made an immortal by Zeus and rejoined Eros.
So "psyche" is the individual personification of the mythic Psyche, a woman who became immortal because of her strength of personality and her willingness to accept help from the Gods.
