What's the longest someone can go without sleep?
Answers:
The longest anyone's gone without sleep is 11 days. After that, your organs start to shut down, and you die. With just a little sleep (even a few seconds at a time), people can go a lot longer than that, though.
ZZZZzzzz 279 horses *yawn*
About 3 days.
Whoa Baby!
36 hours and then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Physically or mentally funtioning? I'm toast after about 20 hours, but I suppose someone could survive for much longer.
11 days is the record
I have been 6 days without the help of drugs.
a little over 3 days and then you die!
The world record for staying awake is around eleven days, and people have been known to stay awake between eight and ten days in carefully monitored experiments

the answer is indefinite.could be days, could be weeks.
Have children under the age of four stay over for a week and see how much sleep you get.
Sorry, that was a mother's joke.
I have gone 36 hours without sleep when one of my children was very sick and in the hospital.

i only went about 2 or it might of been 3 days without sleep..but it was like my mind had shut down .i could not think hardly at all..and it was hard to get to sleep when i did.it was a emotional time for me in my life.i do not know if everyone is like this but i really do think that their thinking would be impaired some anyway...

try it yourself and tell us how long you can go without sleeping
The longest I've gone without sleep was about 4 days but that was before I got clean. Since then I can do 24 hours but then Im ready to pass out.
4 days
Why dont you try it?
Due to an Emergency Situation, I once stayed at work - and awake - for 3 days (including 2 nights) without a break (other than meal breaks).
It was a horrible experience and not one I'd want to repeat.
I could NOT close my eyes without them 'springing wide OPEN.' In the end I went home to bed and slept for about 15 hours, woke feeling like death on the floor of a bird cage. It took me some 20+ hours further to even approach anywhere near 'Recovery.'
I have worked a number of 24 hour shifts without breaks, but there's no way I could do nor would try to do it again.
