i took myself to a hospital?
i was really drunk and had been depressed lately because my grandmother passed away and other things have also been getting to me, while i was drunk i kindof flippedout so i was taken to the hospital by a friend i had to the dr. that at that moment i felt like i could drive off a bridge, i stayed at the e.r. for about 24 hours after the 24 hours i was told that there was a court order for me to go to a mental hospital, so i went and and admitted myself i had to stay 4 6 nights and 5 days in that hell hole, later found out that there was no court order they had lied about it, is there anything i can do, for them lying to me and making me go through hell??

You made a statement that you felt like you could kill yourself they did what they could to make sure that for at least the next week you werent able to do what you threatened to do. Just leave it alone and and be greatful you didnt go from feeling you could drive off a bridge to actually driving off a bridge.
who told you there was a court order to have you go to a hospital. why didn't you ask to look at the court order? that's ridiculous.i would be really pissed off and not talk to who ever told you that.
yes, they can get in big trouble for lying to you, consult a lawyer.
Was it really hell being there? As oposed to the HELL you may have endured had you died or been left paralyzied for life. Hospital stays aren't that bad. Been there before - thank God I'm still alive to share my story. You should be too! Good luck to you and stop or slow down on your drinking, I did, and feel great. Next time, ask to see the court order - usually a policeman escorts you to the hospital if there is one! Take care, Kitty
You are alive. And hopefully feeling much better. Does it matter?
Get over it. It was done for your protection as well as the public. The important question here is, did you learn anything from that experience?
for future reference always ask to see the court order! but it sounds like it was hell but maybe you needed to somewhere safe for your wellbeing. we've all been there! don't let the anger about the situation drive you to end up at the hospital again! let it go. i know easier said than done.
WOW! I don't think you can really do anything about the fact that they lied to you. All you can do is learn from this experience and not get so drunk next time! :)
if you told them you would hurt your self they can hold you for three days i think. it is not a court order but if mental health workers saw you they can have you commited. When your there if you show signs of not being stable they can hold you longer.if you think you where violated make a complaint.or just be glad you are safe and were out of harms way.good luck. sorry about your grandma..
Well,.you might be able to find a personal injury attorney.you must talk to him/her though.because you need to know what you are suing for damages for.You also need to prove that their wasn't a court order to make you go.You really need to talk to an attorney on this one.
