Well, maybe you have some unresolved issues from childhood, I did one time go through the same kinda trouble, but once I figured it out and worked through it - I am loving life! What kind of issues might you have? There is nothing to be afraid of in life, I am sure you are pretty progressive and you so many opportunities available to you - good luck!!

If you don't want to rely on medication why don't you go for counseling? You say you keep all your problems bottled up. The definition of depression is anger toward inward ( if it isn't chemical) So why don't you try to release some of that?
This is a medical problem depression can be helped naturally with an herb called St. Johns Wort it isn't addictive it just helps you feel better. if you ever wanna talk email me. OK?
Everyone elso might seem happy but most of us arent really as happy as we seem inside. Life is hard but with depression it seems harder so give it a try It really helped my sister.
I am sorry that you are going through this. When there is a chemical imbalance and a person is depressed its ok to take medicine to help you live a normal life. You may not need them forever but its a good idea to go in and talk to a mental health Dr about how you are feeling and about your fears. There is nothing wrong with taking meds, it doesn't make you less of a person.in fact admitting that you need help is a very mature thing to do. Good luck.
I'm like you. I'm sorry, there's no easy fix. Put on a smile and pretend. It works sometimes.
See a therapist and tell her that you're not ready for drugs yet.

. I did try Paxil. It worked, and I was better able to socialize. One downside is that it reduced my IQ from near-genius to about 100. I couldn't do my job (computer programming) with an IQ of 100. I stopped taking the pills and got my IQ back.
There are many people who are much worse than you. They are part of everyone else. Read this page under mental issues and see a guy much worse than you that overcame his depression. You can to with natural methods.

Eat a Moon-pie and punch someone from a northern state like New Hampshire..It works for me! P.S. roller coasters are far better than subways!
You sound like you might have bipolar disorder. I have it too. It is like a rollar coaster ride, fear, pain, saddness, anxiety, hopelessness, but you can treat it. Don't wait around.

Don't worry about medications. If you have an imbalance in your brain then medication can help even it out. There are certain chemicals, I won't bore you with the details, that are responsible for sending off messages to brain cells. They are responsible for pleasure, happiness, basically the regulater your emotions and your moods. It is like treating any regular physical disease, no different. However, you need to see a psychiatrist before you decide anything. He will diagnois you and decide what is best for you.

Medication saved my life when nothing else could. I couldn't fix my problem alone because i couldn't it was beyond all talk and will-power, it was a real brain dysfuction.
You know I am just the way you are, I am afraid of life my self. You don't need Medication for the first Thing. I always have things in my head alot of thing I am A Anxiety Disorder person. And my mind trips out Very much. I don't take medication Norw have a Psychologist . Let me tell you some thing about life, it is very beautiful and very amazing, The thing I try to is always keep my head up, you are your self and will never be like any body else, There is people that are blind and can't see life The only thing the see probably nothing and don't even No what the Color Blue is. The first thing to do is take Always small steps . Make your self goals. Ok I am going out side take a step in and out, The second thing to do is "O.k, I am going to the Park were there is rarely people and there is not many Buildings nore cars"
Mediate in your house . NEVER PANIC.. Like I read a passage it said " Come jump the cliff the lord said, there were scared, come jump the cliff, the got closer, jump and flew away"
Psychotherapy (talking therapy) would be useful for you.
