Mari, get yourself into counseling and on to some good medication right now. I am telling you this because I am a girl who almost died from depression. Go get help from professional people you can trust. No arguments please. Just do it. You know I am right. And I care for you. Now get going!
The only thing you can do is see your doctor for some help and medication. Also ask for a referral to a counsellor who will help you treat your depression.
see a psychologist.
Have you tried therapy? There is no shame in asking for help. YOu are not alone
Anti-depressant medications are actually in a class of drug listed as "potassium replace therapy" drugs. Eat more fruits and vegetables, especially potatoes and bananas, or take a potassium supplement.
I was severely depressed. The only thing you can do is medication. One thing the doctors don't tel you, is about re-conitioning your mind progamming (thought process).
Just say over and over 'I am happy and energetic'
Say it in your mind, when you can, aloud. It will happend.
It sounds fishy, but you create your future by your thoughts (not saying depression is your fault, but it can be changed. fight it)
When you are depressed you have not energy to fight or even have a clear mind to fight with. Say that over and over. Not I will be. You have to think and say what you want as if you already have it. Don't say "i am not depressed' keep it positive.
I am happy and energetic over and over and it will come true
Please find yourself a good psychiatrist as well as a psychotherapist. There is no need to go on suffering. In six weeks or less you'll feel a whole lot better.
go mud wrestle a fat girl.youll feel a lot better
See this under mental issues for natural things you can do.

You have to talk to your Dad. Why would you want to go through one more minute with depression problems when they can be treated? Just sit down with your Dad and tell him what's going on. You don't know what he'll say. Right now, you're just confused and afraid. Please seek help.
Look up the names of psychiatrists, psychologists at your local university and see who teaches the course on depression, mood disorders or bi-polar disorder. This would be a good place to start for a reference. Most people suffering from depression get medication and do therapy. You can also read books on depression. There is a book called something like "The Feel Good handbook" by
David Byrnes (sp) that could help you.
Well you took the firest step, that is to recognize and admit it.
There are many things you can do. get councelling, talk to a friend about it ect. I use to be kind of depressed too. I found something that really works.no music. It really helped me. at first is is almost impossible but after a while it is bareable to not listen to music and then before you know it you are no longer depressed. I think that no tv would make it even better, I have done that also but I think music is the main( also same for video games.)
Try taking a multi vitamin supplement with alot of vitamin B. If you cant get medical attention from a doctor go to the library and look up natural remedies for depression, they work.
Why don't you try sitting your dad down and talking to him about the way you feel. If you don't feel comfortable doing that maybe go to a school counselor if you are still in school. If you feel suicial to go a hospital for help. I would suggest that you give Dad a try before giving up on him. Call a suicidal hotline if no one else can help you.
I've struggled w/ depression for years. At present, I've been feeling pretty down. You should make yourself get some exercise. Try to take a walk or ride a bike every day, especially on a nice sunny day. I find exercising out in sunshine elevates my mood, temporarily. Also, intoxicants like alcohol and marijuana may contribute to depression. I've been depressed for years, seen several shrinks, tried several different anti-depressants, but w/ no luck. Try not to kill yourself. Try watching funny TV shows, like Lazy Town. Good Luck. Part of the problem is overcoming the apathy and inertia of depression....it's a vicious cycle. You could try St. John's Wart--it's supposed to help w/ depression.
There are two of ways to help with depression. medication, and therapy.
First, tell someone, usually the help "distress" line is a good place to start because its anonymous. With dad being a contributing factor, I would go to the family health clinic and seek help from a community nurse, they usually don't say nothing to parents, and they know how to give help/advice.
I Hope this helps
Talk to your doctor. Don't feel afraid to let someone know how you feel. You may need some kind of medication to help you through. Take care!
