Answers:
This all depends on the reason that you are taking the Xanax. If it is for an anxiety problem, than I would see a psychologist who will treat YOU, and not the symptoms with a simple medication. As I've told others on here, cognitive behavioral therapists will work with you to understand your particular condition, and then work with you to devise a treatment plan. All CBT is tailored to the individual problem, and it is not simply giving a generic pill to attempt to cover up your woes. Working with a CBT therapist will allow you to taper your medication as your therapy progresses, and for the most part the therapy will proceed according to your comfort level. But please, don't stop taking the medication until you see another doctor, speak with your current doctor, or go to see a clinical psychologist. Best wishes!

So where's the question here?
Find another doctor. Seriously.
see another doctor who's willing to help? doesnt do you much good if you feel sick on them..
try another doctor
You are not supposed to be drinking beer with Xanax. Stop drinking and listen to your doctor.

If you can't stop drinking, go to AA meetings.
If your Dr. isn't listening to you then you need another Dr. who will. Ask around and see if there is a recommended Dr. in your area, if you don't know anyone call your local hospital.
