How can I get rid of my deppression?

Depression is a physical problem. Take good care of yourself physically. Get a medical checkup right away. There are excellent meds that don't make you "happy" but that give you a gentle "even keel". You need your physical body to be at an "even keel" before your brain chemicals start to give you a break from this depression mode. Get move active, go through the motions of daily activities, even if they become seemingly meaningless. Just do it. Work with children. Holding and watching children play helps your brain chemistry, believe it or not. And, exercise. Keep it very simple, but at least push yourself to walk around the block once a day in the cool of the evening when the tensions of the day in your neighborhood have lifted. Start a daily journey, just a short entry, not a blow-by-blow account of what's going on in your mind and heart. And, here's the gig: Restrict your journal entries to ONLY the brighter perspective. All of the suggestions in these answers work, hon. Lots of people have been depressed. Some people get better faster. Some people take longer. But, you'll get better only if YOU make the bull-headed decision to do the hard work of ONE SIMPLE STEP AT A TIME. Good luck. Hang in there.

Get outside and run.
You may suffer from Seasonal Affectiveness disorder (get more sunlight)
Running laps will release endorphins and elevate your mood.
See a doctor and have prescribe an antidepressant. SSRI's are a WONDERFUL thing!!
You can try self help - exercise, diet, etc. If it doesn't work then you should see your doctor and discuss antidepressants.
think positive, always in the morning right after waking up, say something good about yourself like " Im the best"
Smile, watch funny movies..do things you love
As a fellow sufferer of depression I want to tell you that it is more than ok to go to the doctor and ask to be medicated. The medication does work, when you find the right one, but along with this must go Counselling, to get to the root of the problem. Sometimes it is finding a way to deal with the pain when it cannot be resolved but it is treatable and the first step is admitting it is depression, well done.
