really bad memory?

is it normal for a teenager to have really bad memory? like just now, it took me 12 seconds to remeber what i ate for breakfast.;;; im constanly forgetting what i did on what days how i met people etc..
and if i do something when im tired i dont remeber what i did or said.

Answers:
teenagers have a lot of stress to deal with which makes remembering things difficult sometimes. between exams, school, peer pressure, fitting in, dealing with life, homework, keep up with society, drugs they use (for the ones that do drugs, i know not all do), the condition of the world right now, plus for some home life isn't any picnic either. no wonder so many teens have memory problems.

quit worring you sound normal to me, you are not perfect, no body is except Jesus
I had a really bad memory when I was about 15 to like 18.. don't worry about it too much k! you'll make your self forget thinking you forget! your mind is a VERY powerful thing!
GET AN MRI JUST IN CASE THIER ARE ANY ABNORMALITIES CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. AT THAT AGE YOUR MEMORY SHOULD BE VERY ACTIVE. TALK WITH YOUR GP
That is not really normal but a couple of things you might do to help out. Drink lots of water. I bet you drink everything but water. Get more sleep. Your mind may be cluttered up from school work and other school connected items. Pay more attention to what is going on around you. In other words, get control of you brain. Make it listen to what someone is saying or what is going on around you. Pops
The things you describe as being hard to remember, are things you do routinely on a day to day basis. When I do those things like eating breakfast, or driving to work, I sometimes go into what I call "Autopilot". Where you tend to let your mind wander, while you are doing the mundane. Under those conditions it is hard to distinguish one day from another.

Relax, it's normal. It's nearly impossible to retain the memory of everything that happens in your day. During the 1st 24 - 48 hrs you forget things at the highest rate after they happen. At your best, & most alert you will only retain about 70% of what you learned in school during that same 24 - 48 hrs.
For my business, I keep a Daytimer for appointments etc. I also keep a journal of significant events in that same Daytimer, & transfer most of my notes into my computer at the end of the week & use it to track billing for my time. If I didn't make those notes at regular intervals throughout the day, I would be lost, & would have forgotten most of what I did for a large portion of the week, & potentially lose money for my valuable time.

So I don't think you have a bad memory, you are just a busy person, who could benefit by keeping notes.
