Question about autism and autistic-like behavior?
Can anyone tell me some of the symptoms or signs of an autistic child? Or some signs or symptoms of autistic-like behavior?

This site has a check list of signs and symptoms of autism and what to look for for children as young as 18 months. If you are worried that your child may be autistic take him/her to the doctor to be evaluated.
My brother is autistic, and he likes to watch things go in circles like spinning wheels, fans ect. He also doesn't talk much at all and he likes to have certain things to eat and to get out of a routine usually upsets him a little. I hope this helps.
Autism impairs the development of communication and verbal skills. Autism should be considered if any of the following symptoms occur:
apparent hearing problems
cannot explain needs
does not respond to name
does not smile
loss of communication and verbal skills at any age
no eye contact
repetitious use of words out of context (echolalia)
sixteen months of age with no word use
doesn't point or gesture by one year of age
doesn't coo or babble by one year of age
doesn't speak in two word sentences by two years of age.
