Why can't I sleep?
I haven't slept in 4 days. I lie in bed all night trying. I get tired but I don't fall asleep. Sleeping pills didn't work. It's really making me angry.

Maybe you should go to the doctor and tell him or her whats going on. Sounds like sleep insomnia but I am not sure. But if its just because you cant go to sleep try to put some soft music on.take some tea..read a relaxing book..avoid any light in your room.don't eat late..or dont excersice before bed..and like I said make sure to check with your doctor..its really hard when you cant go to sleep for long periods of time, but its dangerous.your brain will start to shut down.be careful.

Wow, I didnt sleep properly for 10 years. But I sympathise, try the herb valerian.
Are you getting stressed about school starting again? That could be the reason. Whatever the cause, you should learn to relax at bedtime. Try taking a warm bath or shower, and use lavender scented soap or bath foams (if you are in a bath). Make a hot milky drink; warm milk is probably best as tea, coffee, and to a lesser extent, hot chocolate, contain caffiene and discourage sleep. Or you could try camomile tea.
Try not to watch television before bed, as this stimulates the brain and does not promote sleep. Write down your thoughts or read a book for twenty minutes or so before trying to go to sleep. If sleep still won't come, do something to keep you busy such as tidying your bedroom, but again, try not to do anything too stimulating such as TV or computer games. Try another hot drink and see if this works.
If your insomnia persists, see a doctor.
