aaarrghhh?

OK, I'm having serious stress at work, and I know lots of people say that, but it's actually making me "physically" sick. In the past I always thought people who said that were exaggerating, and I figured "suck it up". But now I feel like I'm drowning and I don't know what to do please help.

Well, it is hard to give 'good' advice because you didn't mention which of your two jobs or what it is about it that is so disturbing to you.

But, that being said, I hope that you have took a hard look at your situation and have your priorities in order.

It would be tempting to say maybe its time to go find another job, but because you have children I can imagine that you may feel 'trapped' in your present situation because you would not want to risk losing a source of income that helps provide for them.

If that is the case, you probably need to figure out how to start working towards getting some kind of relief. Again, its hard to really give advice because I don't know which job is bothering you.

One thing I do know, speaking from experience, is that no job is worth wrecking your health over. I was once a prison guard and the stress, ulcers, lack of sleep, etc. made my life a living h*ll. I hope you don't let yourself get to that point.

All I really know to say is hang in there, set your mind to dealing with it, changing it if possible, and carry on to the best of your ability..its all any of us can really hope to do...good luck.

sometimes all you need is to get away. do you have any vacation time? if you do i would think about using it. i have been there. if it is other people causing it try not to feed in to what they are doing or saying. if it is your work load take a deep breath and step away for a minute. good luck and don't wear yourself out. take care of you.
hire a lifeguard.
First of all I'd try to stop a moment, take a deep breath, and really think about what it is that's bothering you so badly at work. Is it really your work environment? Or is it something outside of work that is making your work life miserable as well, such as family stress, financial stress, depression, etc.? If it's truely your work, what is it? Decide if it's something that you can fix or not. Is it a coworker, your boss, too much responsibility, no recognition for your hard work? Maybe you just need a change. A different job or profession? Maybe a vacation? Whatever you decide, I wish you the best! Good luck!
