I've been taking Lexapro for 6 days now and I feel I have lost my sex drive. Has this happened to anybody else

i am really worried because I never experienced lack of sex drive up until now. I also have trouble getting an orgasm. has anybody experienced this and if so.has it lasted for too long?? (I've been on this med for only six days.

I am on the medication, and yes it can cause a loss of sex drive, it depends on the dosage. It really depends on whether or not the anxiety was so great, that you could deal without the medication. Also, this is an issue you should discuss with your doctor, as he or she could possibly try other medications. Definitely call them.
Give it another week or so. It may or may not go away.

If not, talk to your doctor about another medication.

I was on it for 7 months.I quit for that exact reason. Just about any anti-depressant has this effect.
I would strongly suggest herbal alternatives (due to previous experience) my doctor unecessarily prescribed me zoloft instead of addressing what was really going on and it lead to a downward spiral of diagnosises. I went from having situational anxiety to being a full fledged manic depressive (in his eyes!) and it was all from the medication. He went as far to put me on an anti seizure medication. I do still have some depression issues but have found this wonderful, "Natural Prozac" called 5HTP. A medical diagnostician friend of mine recommended it and i've never been so consistently happy! And it has the exact opposite effect on sex drive :) It has many many benefits and I suggest you google search it. If you do find criticism, just keep in mind how much the american pharmeceutical market would suffer if the whole world would catch on to a natural alternative. All of their pills "fix depression" but may give you: low blood pressue, high blood pressure, reduced appetitie, lowered sex drive, nausea, irritability, sleepiness, sleeplessnes. lol, you get my point. i stopped taking it not only did i lose my sex drive but it gave neurological problems to a woman on a lexapro chat board you should investigate this further because it can cause some crazy problems worse than what depression causes but you should talk to your doctor to wean your body off of this drug can also be dangerous if you were to just stop on your own. good luck
i was on that for a long time but everyone is different for me when i was on it yes i did but now that i am off of it i still find that i dont have one eitherway so might be the meds side affect from taking to long , but like i said everyone is different talk to your docter on that one she/he could help you more this one goes either way, i wish you the best
